(Press Release) Comic Artists Band Together In Support of Marriage Equality in a unique anthology to be published, with a portion of proceeds supporting equal rights.
Little Heart is a community-funded comic anthology created to show support for Marriage Equality, produced in partnership with 2D Cloud & [MN]Love, and motivated by current efforts to write discrimination and fear into Minnesota’s Constitution. Artists from across North America responded to the call for work, sharing deeply personal stories of love and marriage. The comics included in the volume cover a variety of material, from auto-bio, science fiction, intimate vignettes, romantic incidentals.
The artists and organizations involved feel it is important to make their collective voices heard and spread a message promoting tolerance and Love. The result is the creation of a unique graphic novel full of stories showing the many faceted sides of love left out of the discussion of “Traditional Marriage” by some opposing Marriage Equality.
The theme of the anthology—Love strikes all walks of life—plays out in a body of works showing that love is as normal as it is diverse, as universal as it is unique. The definitions of love and marriage aren’t something that can be mandated though the passage of laws; rather, they develop individually for each and every one of us. By combining creative arts, narrative, and self expression the anthology aims to harness and display the power of change to promote love, unity, and tolerance throughout Minnesota and the nation.
Artists involved in this project include greats like Noah Van Sciver, Joseph Remnant, Maurice Vellekoop, Michael DeForge, Tuesday Bassen, Kate Craig + Emily Carroll, Ed Choy + Sam Sharpe, MariNaomi, Zak Sally, and many many others!
Interested parties can fund Little Heart via Kickstarter.
