Midnight Fiction Comix and Reviews
Richard Krauss is the creative farce behind the Midnight Fiction website. Back in the day, Midnight Fiction was the name of my first small press comix. Back then I was a small part of the newave comix scene. Now MidnightFiction.com collects most of my cartoon work with a little backstory thrown in for good measure.
The site is updated every Saturday. I've made a serious commitment to keeping things fresh, so please bookmark the site and revisit it often. I promise there will be new content every week. You can count on it.
Updates typically include a new cartoon, review, and blog entry. All of the new material appears on the home page and is simultaneously published on a permanent page (under Comix, Reviews, or Blog). So if you want to link to content that won't move, use the permanent page location.
The weekly cartoons feature comix drawn during the Newave comix era, but I've done a few more recent pages for Dan W. Taylor's Weird Muse Productions, Jim Main's Satyr #9 (Main Enterprises) and Delaine Derry Green's Not My Small Diary #15.
Thanks very much for visiting the site. Please make it a part of your regular surfing. If you have any comments, suggestions, or requests, I'd love to hear from you!
Bob Vojtko Zinography Link
Bob Vojtko's wonderful comix and cartoons have entertained readers since the seventies. Bob was a big part of the newave comix scene. His work was published by Clay Geerdes, George Erling, Everyman Studios, Jabberwocky Graphix, and many others during those early days of mini comics. With the help of his wife Sue, he also published over a dozen of his own books under the Vojtkomics Productions banner. More recently, Bob's cartoons have been published in the Hustler Humor, Harvard Business Review, Nickelodeon Magazine, Highlights for Children, The Lutheran, and Woman's World.
Midnight Fiction's spotlight on Bob Vojtko includes a comprehensive index of his published work, a few weeks worth of his short-lived syndicated comic strip Suzy, and a great collection of his strips from the pages of Low Budget Funnies.
Interview with Joe Wehrle Jr. Link
Joe Wehrle Jr. is an artist, writer, and musician. Joe has written and illustrated several books including Pearls of Peril (BLB), Stovepipe, and Drawn by Wehrle (portfolio). His work has been published in Two-Gun Raconteur, Vampirella, The Menomonee Falls Gazette, and many other publications. Through his Pencil Portrait studio he offers custom illustrated portraits at reasonable rates.
Midnight Fiction's spotlight on Joe Wehrle Jr. includes an interview, an index of his published work, and a short story featuring his famous feline, Cauliflower Catnip in a special Christmas adventure.
Other Zinographies
MidnightFiction.com also hosts and links to other Zinographies of select cartoonists and illustrators such as Brad W. Foster, Rick McCollum, Dave Miller, John Porcellino, and Michael Roden. Collaborating with Rick Bradford, who runs the Poopsheet Foundation website, we're working to add more indexes of newave, mini-comic, and small press comic creators' published works to our sites.
