Backstory

In 1976, Bill Joel wrote and recorded New York State of Mind. Having never lived on the East Coast, I just didn't get it, so I did this cartoon of a New York cabbie who didn't get it either. If I was doing this strip today, it would be: I sincerely hope you never get, and haven't now, "got a little Captain in you."

The Voice strip was a tribute to the amazing Mel Blanc.
