One of my first jobs out of college was a short stint at a typesetting shop. The owner was an older guy who was general manager, account rep, and salesman for the operation. He drove a gigantic Cadillac and liked to bar hop in the evenings. Some nights when he was out drinking he would call me up out of the blue and brainstorm about ideas to expand his business and how I could help him. No doubt this experience inspired Nora's evening call from Irv in the first strip.

This is the last strip that was produced for the series. The business meeting that Nora was about to begin was based on an Amway meeting I attended several years earlier. A friend of mine invited my wife and I over to his house one evening to hear about an exciting new business opportunity. There wasn't much if any, advance information about the meeting. The whole approach hinged on taking advantage of relationships with friends to make a sales pitch to a captive audience. This series was intended to lampoon the whole sleazy experience.

Backstory
I first met Graphic Artist Mike Coughlin through my job sometime during the late 1970's.
A few years later he was hired as the Art Director at a local newspaper that published a weekly entertainment guide.
Mike redesigned the tabloid publication and brought in some new features.
He knew of my interest in cartooning and invited me to contribute a comic strip. This was how Nora Talbot got started.
Note: This is an incomplete series. Although the overall storyline wasn't concluded, each week provides a stand alone comic strip.
